Blast from the past.
A pair of upcoming Switch releases from Capcom were announced at the 2020 instalment of The Game Awards.
The developer started by announcing Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, a reimagining of the 1985 classic, starring a beleaguered knight named Arthur battling hordes of the undead. The debut trailer features a storybook-inspired art style and a number of classic enemies including the Red Arremer, a villain that later got its own spinoff series, Gargoyle’s Quest.
Capcom went on to reveal Capcom Arcade Stadium, a collection of retooled arcade classics that can be purchased in bundles, slated to drop in February 2021. The collection includes the ability to rewind gameplay, tweak difficulty and speed of the games, create save points at any time, apply retro screen filters, and chase high scores on global leaderboards.
1943 – The Battle of Midway is included as a freebie when the collection drops early next year.
