#WeStayHome is a response to the COVID-19 pandemic encouraging people to, well, stay home.
In the scenario, the robber is benevolent instead of malicious, delivering goods to all players as it moves. The desert is moved to the centre of the board and replaced with one of two new home tiles you can print off, with the other home being placed over the tile that is assigned the ‘2’. (The ‘2’ is added to the ’12’ tile and any roll of either will award resources.)
When the robber is moved it now provides the resource of the tile it’s placed on to all players with settlements or cities adjacent to either of the homes.
During our spin through the scenario we noticed at the outset of the game things moved smoothly and trade tensions weren’t as high as usual. By the end game, when players are scrambling to complete the requirements to earn their final victory points, movement of the robber could award resources with unintended consequences. It definitely changed how we approached the final stage of the game.
The #westayhome scenario works with the Catan base game, Seafarers, and Cities & Knights.
