It’s a feast of plenty.
If you’ve missed any of the opening salvo of Gigantamax Pokemon in Sword and Shield since launch you can probably capture that special form right now.
The Wild Area is currently in its first ever Gigantamax Festival–which will run through June 29th–which sees Max Raid Battles filled to the gills with Gigantamax Pokemon. Snorlax leads the charge in both versions of the Switch release with each getting some natively available in their version, though playing online means nothing is locked to one game or another.
Gigantamax Pokémon that will appear only in Pokémon Sword:
Gengar, Kingler, Lapras, Garbodor, Corviknight, Appletun, Amped Form Toxtricity, Centiskorch, Grimmsnarl, Alcremie, and Duraludon
Gigantamax Pokémon that will appear only in Pokémon Shield:
Charizard, Butterfree, Machamp, Orbeetle, Drednaw, Coalossal, Flapple, Sandaconda, Low Key Form Toxtricity, Hatterene, and Copperajah
In some cases, these were Pokemon that were only available through Max Raids of the other version (Lapras and Coalossal were flipped, for instance) while others are the same configurations. The Pokemon Company and Game Freak appear keen to make sure no Pokemon remains locked to one version while still encouraging player interactions.
