It’s your birthday!
Developing story…
As E3 didn’t happen this year, a number of replacement events are popping up piecemeal, giving gamers an opportunity to see new games, and even play them.
Today was the kickoff to three events: Guerrilla Collective and the PC Gaming Show underway with the Future Game Show happening tonight.
Slay the Spire–the deck-building roguelike from Mega Crit–is coming to Android soon with an iOS drop today. The game is among our favourites, here, as its deeply immersive play rewards attention to detail, measured risk-taking, and experimenting within the game’s classes, each of which have unique decks to build around. At $9.99 USD, it’s also the best (non-sale) price you can get for the game, which should feel right at home on mobile devices.
Outbuddies DX (rated M for strong language)–a Metroid inspired game both in play style and looks–has been available on Switch for a week now but had its release highlighted, along with its Xbox One counterpart. Ditto all that–except the genre–for the shoot-em-up Rigid Force Redux, similarly available on Xbox One and Switch.
Over on the PC Gaming Show, Persona 4 Golden was announced as it’s coming to Steam, today, the first game in the Persona series to be available on PC. A breakdown of the game’s settings can be found on PC Gamer.
Chop some trees, build an expansive cabin, and otherwise try to survive in the woods in Among Trees, available in early access on the Epic Game Store.
With three events underway, covering more than 50 games between them, there are sure to be all sorts of new reveals, trailers, and surprise announcements. We’ll track them as they happen here.
