Another announcement next week!
New Pokemon Go has been announced by The Pokemon Company as part of its 11-minute Pokemon Presents showcase. Details were scant but the game appears to feature Pokemon from across generations living on a series of islands. It appears the Zero-One, the buggy that players used to traverse the world of the original Pokemon Snap, is making a return along with the rail-based system introduced on the N64 game. This iteration will launch on Switch.
That’s right, Trainers—#PokemonSnapIsBack! #NewPokemonSnap is an all-new adventure inspired by the classic Nintendo 64 game.

The Pokemon Company also announced, on behalf of Niantic, that Mega Evolution will be coming to Pokemon Go, though details weren’t provided. It appears the system will be tweaked a bit to better align with the mobile game’s systems. Galarian Farfetch’d are also joining the lineup available in the game.
Pokemon Sword and Shield fans will get their first opportunity to tackle Zeraora starting today in a new Max Raid Battle featuring the mythical Pokemon. If it’s defeated a million times over the next 11 days then players will receive a special shiny variant.
Cavity causing bacteria is the enemy of Pokemon Smile, an app that encourages young players and their families to brush their teeth together, catch and rescue Pokemon, and use Pokemon filters to turn tooth-brushing into a fun time. The chibi art style is also very adorable. It’s available now.
Finally, Pokemon Cafe Mix is a “free-to-start” puzzle game that’s apparently a looser take on similar match-three style games the company has released in the past, blended in with a cozy, cafe aesthetic. It’ll be playable on Switch and mobile devices.
We won’t have to wait long for more Pokemon news as another Pokemon Presents is scheduled for next week. Fans are already speculating that remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl may well be on the horizon.
