Doctor Doom’s Castle Doom is a secure facility. Lasers and blasts from a Celestial stand between you and the famous villain.
When dealing with the assembling Celestial, understanding the pattern of its attack, developed through three stages, is helpful but nonetheless frustrating. The most basic answer to the question of getting past this annoying obstacle is to follow the pattern–from left to right–and dodge the explosion that follows the tracked laser line. Wakanda prepared you for this!
As the stakes rise–and other obstacles present themselves–this may be easier said than done. Two types of characters make this process somewhat easier: blockers and teleporters.
Characters that have an invincible shield of sorts are your best bet. Both Thing and Colossus are on offer here and both get the job done. The game expects you to cheese it with this technique so the corridors the Celestial assaults are long. Don’t hold the ability the entire time; instead, get into a rhythm of blocking as the explosion begins coming your way or the lightning. Let off the button right after to conserve energy.
Teleporters like Nightcrawler and Deadpool are also available choices and well timed button presses–again, matching up to the explosion that follows the laser or the lightning blast–will do the job. If you steadfastly refuse to utilize teleporters or blockers, agile fliers like Magneto or Storm are helpful, but they won’t take many hits if you make mistakes.
Finally, the exits are always to the left, so prioritize moving in that direction when possible, particularly in the final third of your journey through each of the three waves. Your character’s body must make it all the way into the next corridor or you will be hit with an explosion and knocked backwards. Not fun.
The assembling Celestial is a beatable threat and with patience or the right character choices you can blow right past this otherwise annoying security feature of Castle Doom.
