How can he be a doctor?
The additions to Dr Mario World are simultaneously baffling and expected at this point. There’s a playable Dr Dolphin who, as the name suggests, is a doctor wearing a lab coat, so we’ve crossed the event horizon at this point are are just making things happen now.
Dr Baby Wario is further proof of this (and proof that all babies are cute) as the doctor utilizes skills involving coins (gathering them in standard play, turfing them to the opponent in versus) to…crush viruses or diagnose or…we don’t even know at this point.
Joining the not-so-good doctor is a new helper in the form of a Yellow Shy Guy. The battle-box exclusive assistant Whomp King is also now available along with other Season 3 additions including new stages.
Meanwhile, actual named characters are still stuck in the assistant role, including Honey Queen (once a Mario Kart racer!), Pom Pom, and Boom Boom.
