There’s been no shortage of free games lately and the Humble Store is serving up another one, this time the massive, sprawling real-time strategy game Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation. Literally thousands of units can battle it out across the game’s world simultaneously; multiple fronts can emerge and the battlefield can shift dramatically as war unfolds.
There’s very much so a Company of Heroes but in space kind of vibe to the whole affair that makes it worth considering. It all feels very floaty, as well, while hovering units can navigate around one another in three dimensions. Resource extraction and base building is also central to the game.
