In the dead of night, Nintendo dropped version 8.1.0 for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, bringing with it changes big and mostly small.
A new take on the ever popular Battlefield stage called Small Battlefield has been released with this update. The squished take on the stage sees the removal of the high central platform. Additionally, any stage music can be played on the Battlefield stages and Final Destination now.
The stage menu has been reconfigured to allow for random selection of Battlefield and Final Destination stages and a new row was added, presumably to allow space for the remaining Fighter’s Pass stages, making the stage select feel a bit roomier.
Additional tweaks were made to the online and some behind the scenes fixes were made as well.
There’s still no word on the next Fighter’s Pass character reveal since the inclusion of Min Min. The pass promises four additional characters and stages–with accompanying music–by the end of next year.
