As close as you’ll get to IRL Super Mario Maker!
LEGO is cashing in on the new LEGO Super Mario sets, with a whopping 16 additional sets slated for released in January of 2021!
You’ll still need the Starter Set (how else will you get Mario?!), but these new sets will introduce a huge variety of new components, characters, and set pieces. A bulk of the new sets are simply character blind boxes, which will include: Huckit Crab, Spiny Cheep Cheep, Ninji, Foo, Parachute Goomba, Fly Guy, Poison Mushroom, Para-Beetle, Thwimp or a Bone Goomba.
A Master Your Own Adventure set changes things up with a new set piece: A Warp Pipe! This allows for new rule sets on the Mario toy itself (though I’m not sure what that means!).
Most exciting of all, you can finally dress Mario up as Penguin Mario (as seen in Super Mario 64) and Tanooki Mario.
Prices for each set have not been revealed quite yet.
