This will be tougher than expected.
The LEGO Group has been around for what seems like forever — 90 years in 2021 in fact — and many great set themes have come and gone. So many, in fact, that not even LEGO can decide which one to celebrate for the big 9-0.
That’s where you, the reader, come in! To help celebrate the major anniversary, LEGO is asking for help in picking which of the 30 themes available to choose from will be celebrated. The vote will happen in stages, with the first vote narrowing the 30 themes down to just 3. The secondary vote will narrow that down to just one, with that winning theme being the subject of a special 90th anniversary set release.
Not all sets LEGO has ever made are included (no Star Wars or special co-branded sets!), but a good chunk of them are represented.
Everyone from classic pirate fans to Bionicle lovers have something to cheer for and to celebrate. Make no mistake, though, this vote isn’t about kids — it’s about tapping into the nostalgia, and wallets, of older LEGO lovers. That might be why they say it’s good for those aged 9-90.
