The ever fun and completely out there Secret Lair drops in Magic: The Gathering are known for two things: bold designs and a hyper-limited release window.
In this case, the designs come from Wizard of Barge, and feature what can best be described as a ’90s Saturday Morning Cartoon vibe with a bubblegum palette based on ’50s ooze monsters. The cards are vibrant and stand in stark contrast to the typical fantasy painting designs of MTG.
As for the hyper-limited release window, you have until 9 AM Pacific tomorrow to get in line and pony up your $29.99 USD for the five card release. Wizards of the Coast anticipate the slimes will arrive in time for Halloween (October 15th – November 30th release).
Wizards promise there’s no capacity to sell-out: As long as you get your order in on time you’ll receive the cards!
Past Secret Lair collections have included Godzilla stomping around some lands, a Year of the Rat theme, and a number of all-art borderless releases.
