PAX Aus joining the party remotely too.
Penny Arcade’s yearly games expo, or PAX, is one of the most popular gaming events of the year. Unfortunately due to the current pandemic situation, many feared it would be completely cancelled for this year.
Fear not! PAX officially announced today that it would be moving to an online format. In lieu of fancy booths and cramming everyone into a hot, kinda stinky convention hall, there will be a wealth of online content include streamed panels and online game demos. Merch from both PAX Aus and PAX West will be available throughout the summer to be purchased for the collector types among you. “Some” form of “tournaments”–with even more quotation marks than we’ve offered–are also in the works.
The best part? It will be completely free this year! The event will stretch from September 12th through 20th, and streams will be running 24/7. Or rather, as the site points out, it’s more like 24/9. Sure, it’s not as fun as being there in person, but it’s a heck of a lot cheaper and safer to do it online.
