Not so super.
The current global pandemic is hitting everyone pretty hard, and making public gatherings difficult, or even impossible in some cases. Unfortunately, a casualty of these restrictions is the planned opening of Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan. Originally slated for a July grand opening, the tough decision was made to postpone it until a later date. No date has been confirmed, though, a 2021 date is likely.
Not much is known yet about the attractions in Super Nintendo World, but a Mario Kart attraction has been confirmed. Additionally, marketing for the attraction suggests visitors will be in an immersive, interactive world featuring wearable technology called a Power Up Band, allowing guests to break ? blocks while chasing high scores and even ride on the back of Yoshi.
Three Super Nintendo World locations have been announced to date.
