Honk.
The ever cool and ever annoying Untitled Goose Game may well be on track to release the most unique vinyl album of 2020. The game’s soundtrack is already an interesting one–adapting the music of Debussy to create “reactionary” sounds based on the player’s choices–a worthy soundtrack to one of the best games of the last year.
Its vinyl release is every bit as creative as the titular goose. The vinyl itself is reclaimed and recycled — an homage to the goose’s penchant for collecting junk. It also means there’s no guarantee what colour your individual record may be when it arrives. The record’s jacket is 100% recycled material. The vinyl itself utilizes a “double groove” technique to somewhat randomize the music that is played; the needle can follow a different path each time you place it, a nice mirror to the game’s reactionary soundtrack.
The vinyl soundtrack can be pre-ordered now for $29.99. Alternatively, you can listen to it on Spotify, as part of your membership.
