Geeky Game Boy infused single is both haunting and uplifting.
Chiptune veteran Andy “Stenobot” Myers has stealth dropped a new single, “Just Because You Close Your Eyes Doesn’t Mean I’m Gone”, along with a B-side, on his personal website,/Bandcamp, and Spotify.
The track has the bouncy, pop-like undercurrent, that’s just a little haunting, featured in his group Supercommuter’s 2011 release “Robot Party”, and a purity driven, hope inspiring dose of love similar to 2010’s “Fallen Leaves”. It’s a unique track by a unique artist who historically hasn’t shied away from taking risks.
The surprise release also brings with it good news for Spotify users: Stenobot’s albums Sink or Swim We’ll Go Together and The Thirteen Orphans join the new single, and Supercommuter’s body of work, on that service.
