We can swim now!
Summer is here, and what better way to cool off than to go swimming? Wave 1 of Nintendo’s summer updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons arrives July 3rd, and brings with it a bevy of new features. First off, players can swim in the ocean now! Not only that, but new creatures (a starfish was shown in the video) are able to be caught while swimming. Players can also dive down to the ocean floor to collect more critters, and possibly even treasure! An otter named Pascal will even trade you items for the creatures you collect.
In addition, new DIY recipes will become available, to coincide with the new collectibles. Last but not least, everyone’s…favorite…bird, Gulliver, will show up on shores decked out in pirate gear. Huh? Apparently the seafaring life took him down a strange path. The trailer is below:
