Canalta Cup is on the line.
The sports world was affected early in the COVID-19 pandemic and leagues around the world are trying to figure out how, or if, to revive their now stalled seasons.
Such is true of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) whose season was cancelled back on March 13th. The organization announced their playoffs would continue virtually, beginning 7PM Central time, on April 23rd.
The league hopes to unite hockey fans and give some entertainment while that province, and much of the world, remains in lockdown. The simulations will be paired with broadcasters making the call to add to that hockey night feeling.
LaRonge’s Ice Wolves will be first up as they take on the Yorkton Terriers. That series is tied at two games a piece.
