Lapras, Marshal, and Pyramid Head.
Your weekly round-up of cool trailers, official art, screenshots, merchandise, collectibles, fan art, cosplay, and more, Good GFX shares the stuff we love on the Internet.
Another week, another roundup. There’s a lot going on in the world right now, but one thing stays pretty constant — people consistently crank out some truly great fan art of their favorite series. Twitter user/plush masters @BoiraPlushies (who you should follow ASAP!) created a plush out of one of my personal favorite Animal Crossing villagers — Marshal! Seriously, the level of detail on this thing is incredible. Check it out below:
Unfortunately (for us) it is not mass produced but rather was a commission. I’m not jealous at all…
Within my reach though, is a new pool float from The Pokemon Company, which looks like Lapras. This thing is huge and costs $50, but it would be totally worth it to see people’s faces at the pool! If you’d rather have something a bit less conspicuous (but also cool), GoodSMILE is releasing a figure of Melia from Xenoblade Chronicles! No price or release date have been announced yet, though.
Speaking of Pokemon, a new music video featuring Psyduck was released a little over a week ago by The Pokemon Company. It’s pretty great!
On to somewhat darker subject matter, a big announcement was made for Dead by Daylight this week — Silent Hill characters and maps! The reveal trailer is appropriately dark and horrifying:
And yes, you get to play as Pyramid Head.
In other (normally violent) game news, the Friendship! moves for Robocop in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath was revealed, and it’s…well, it’s as 80s as Robocop himself.
XCOM 2 recently released on Nintendo Switch, and some members of our staff are very excited about it. But how did the PC title fare in the transition to a definitively less powerful console? Very well, actually!
The graphical comparison between the two versions shows off the surprising graphical capabilities of the Switch, but obviously some parts of it were downscaled a bit. Regardless, I’m excited to see it come to Switch!
Since we’re just going hard on the videos this post, I’ll do a rapid-fire of the rest of the ones I’ve got. Here we go! First up we’ve got a history of Arkane Studios, the company behind many of your favorite games! It’s over an hour long, but promises to be a worthwhile watch.
An enterprising college student recreated the entirety of VVVVV in PyGame, a Python game engine. It looks identical to the original game, which is truly impressive. Good work!
Finally, upcoming game Snacko released a short video showing off the title screen of the game. It looks very bright and cute, much like Animal Crossing.
Hope you aren’t sick of watching videos, but that’s all I’ve got for this week. Stay safe, my friends!
