Ubisoft have released a playlist full of original party songs and covers from the Just Dance series to help you kickstart your summer parties (at safe physical distances).
The playlist’s tracks spans a number of musical eras and genres though it’s decidedly pop infused and upbeat. The covers are competent with strong production values and decent vocal stand-ins. As background music in the office, gym, or at your event it probably won’t be noticeable that this is a series of covers, but under scrutiny no one can quite muster the “growl” of Britney in “Baby One More Time” or the crooning of Jack Jones from “The Love Boat”. On the ‘originals’ front, “Nitro Bot” by Sentai Express has Daft Punk’s “Robot Rock” all over it in an explosion of sound and robotic voices.
Clocking in just shy of three-and-a-half hours long, the 66 track playlist moves seamlessly between disco and country, electro-pop and power ballad, and should be enough to uplift a dreary day.
